Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player Draft, known officially in the rules of the game as the Rule 4 Draft, is scheduled to take place from July 9-11 in Seattle. The draft is being held in the Emerald City as part of the MLB All-Star Week festivities.
A pitcher for the ages, Nolan Ryan was as dominant an arm as the baseball world has ever seen. His ability to overpower the opposition was legendary as evidenced by his strikeout totals and by the seven no-hitters.
It will be a long, grueling season filled with the usual baseball excitement, drama, exasperation, frustration, heartbreak, exhilaration, defeat, and triumph. The Phillies and every single team and fan base in the game will feel each of those emotions at some point during the coming campaign.
