26-year-old right-hander Darrin Chapin made just one appearance on the mound for the Phillies, one of just four appearances over brief promotions to Major League Baseball.
Phillies 50: Forgotten 1993 – Paul Fletcher
Fletcher developed a problem after leaving the Phillies in that he became an alcoholic: "His wife divorced him, he attempted suicide and he was spiraling out of control until his sister stepped in and called the Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.)."
Phillies 50: Forgotten 1993 – Doug Lindsey
1993 was also somewhat of a magical season for catcher Doug Lindsey, who appeared in his second season with the Phillies that year and played with two teams. Problem is, if you blinked, you missed his entire big-league career.
Will there be baseball this year? If not, will the league survive?
I'm disappointed it's been blown so far out of proportion, and there isn't any kind of closure yet. Hopefully an agreement on a 2020 season comes sooner rather than later.
